Abstract of
Technology in Literacy Five Internet Sites Too Good to Miss
Linda D. Labbo
There are many Internet sites that supposedly provide young learners with suitable activities. But it is often the case that these sites are not developmentally appropriate for students. Too many words on the computer screen, the lack of pictures, and the absence of multimedia support (such as oral narration options) make many websites inaccessible to young children. In this column, the author shares some websites that create unique opportunities for students' literacy development through online resources and tools.
