Abstract of

Measuring Attitude Toward Reading: A New Tool for Teachers

full text - PDF

Attitude toward reading plays an important role in the process of becoming literate. When children approach reading positively, they are more likely to engage with text, to seek out reading opportunities, and to read more often for longer periods. In this article, the authors discuss the important role of attitude and present an instrument that will help teachers estimate children's attitudes efficiently and reliably.
