Each year, the International Reading Association's membership newspaper, Reading Today (see www.reading.org/publications/reading_today), publishes a listing of “what's hot, and what's not” in reading and reading instruction.

The authors reviewed 10 years' of lists, and identified some trends relevant to adolescent literacy.

Abstract from Cassidy, J., Garrett, S., & Barrera IV, E.S. (2006, September). What's Hot in Adolescent Literacy 1997–2006. Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy, 50(1), 30–36. doi: 10.1598/JAAL.50.1.4
