Supplementary Booklists
The Notable Books for a Global Society Committee works to spotlight outstanding works of literature that honor and celebrate diversity in terms of culture, race, ethnicity, gender, language, religion, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, and physical and intellectual ability. Each year, the committee uses specific selection criteria to spotlight 25 outstanding trade books for enhancing students understandings of people and cultures throughout the world. Selected titles include fiction, nonfiction, and poetry written for students in grades K through 12.
The booklists provided in this supplement can be used by educators, along with the books in-depth discussions of the first 10 years of the Notable Books for a Global Society booklists, to develop author, genre, and cultural studies through literature.
