This article provides principles for differentiation at the secondary level that can be used in any content area. Differentiation is a way of thinking that can change patterns of practice. By adapting the content of lessons, how students experience the process of learning, and the products that show learning, teachers can differentiate for their students. This article gives practical ways that teachers can differentiate by content, process, and product so that student learning is maximized.
