Your Research Paper Is DUE: New Tools for a Familiar Task

Douglas Fisher, Nancy Frey, & Katrina Kennett

Is it still valuable to assign students a research paper? Indeed, developing a good research paper is still a valuable assignment, giving students the opportunity to investigate a question, read from multiple sources, and synthesize their understanding on paper. While the functions remain the same (e.g., finding information, organizing information), this article explores how the advent of digital tools changes the way students complete the task. Multiple online tools are shared.
