Obituary: Reading Hall of Fame member Eve Malmquist

Professor Eve Malmquist, former Reading Hall of Fame president and long-time IRA member who served on the board as an international emissary in the 1970s, passed away March 16 at the age of 95. Malmquist, of Linköping University in Sweden, was well known among IRA members and had many friends throughout the world

In his home country of Sweden, Malmquist was highly regarded as an author of reading materials and books about methods to teach reading, as well as for his role as founder of SCIRA, the Swedish Council of IRA. He will be remembered for making a strong impact on literacy and literacy teaching in Sweden and beyond.
