Scholastic looking for top WordGirls

by Annie Enchakattu | Mar 11, 2011

Scholastic has announced plans for a second annual WordGirl competition, a game-show like contest that lets kids grades 1-3 test their vocabulary skills. The WordGirl competition promotes the power of a strong vocabulary and encourages students to push their word skills further. Scholastic uses the tie-in with PBS Kids Go! program WordGirl in order to engage children and excite them about learning. The competition will be available to be streamed live online on Wednesday, April 27 at 1:00 p.m. ET. Schools across the nation are encouraged to participate, whether by entering directly into the competition or playing along with the webcast simultaneously. For more, visit this Scholastic website.
