After a brief hiatus, IRA's popular Reading Radio program has returned with a discussion of IRA's recently released Standards for Reading Professionals--Revised 2010. The program features an interview of Rita Bean, professor emerita at the University of Pittsburgh and chair of the Standards 2010 Committee, which prepared the standards over a three-year period.
"I'd like to see these standards really become a resource for all those interested in improving the quality of reading professionals in our field," Bean said in the interview. She outlined the key components of the standards, discussed how educators could use the standards to inform their practice, and described how listeners could access the standards.
