"Twilight" movies don't do much for book sales

With the furious hype over the series of "Twilight" movies — including the June 30 release of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" — it's easy to forget the movies started out as some of the most popular teen books ever. Linda Crooks, sales manager at Borders bookstore in Stroud Township, Pennsylvania, said the movies don't do much for book sales anymore.

After the first movie in 2008, Crooks said book sales of the "Twilight" series actually did flourish with fans of the movie not patient enough to wait for the rest of the movies. But now, she said anyone who might have been interested in buying the books already has. The same type of phenomenon, she said, happened with "Harry Potter" movies.
