ILA's Annual Conference

ILA's Annual Conference is a not-to-be-missed professional development event held the U.S. or Canada each summer.

ILA events present exceptional opportunities to get your message out to thousands of education professionals. Find out how to become an advertiser, sponsor, or exhibitor.

ILA awards Clock Hours for attending sessions at our annual conference. These transcripts may be used as part of a professional development sequence approved by local school districts. Check with your district or State Department of Education for more information about specific Clock Hour requirements.

International Literacy Day

    Plum Creek Children’s Literacy Festival 2015

    Concordia University Seward Campus, 800 N. Columbia Ave.

    The Plum Creek Children’s Literacy Festival originated in 1996 at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. The festival is a three-day literacy event for school age children and adults; participants are provided with an opportunity to interact with nationally acclaimed authors and illustrators. The festival has grown from a one-day, one-author event to a three-day nine-author event. Over 10,000 school-age children and their teachers attend two Children’s Days of the festival AT NO CHARGE. An adult conference is held the third day, with nine authors and seven literacy experts speaking to approximately 600 attendees. There is a short video that shows the festival and our mission at
