Subcommittee on the Teacher Educator Awards

Charges:

  1. Review applications for the IRA Jerry Johns Outstanding Teacher Educator in Reading Award according to award criteria. This award recognizes an outstanding teacher of courses in reading and literacy instruction. Recommend a candidate to the Board of Directors providing supporting data by December 5, 2008.

  2. Review applications for the Arbuthnot Award based on award criteria. This award recognizes an outstanding college or university teacher of children's and young adult literature. Recommend a candidate to the Board of Directors providing supporting data by December 5, 2008.

  3. Review IRA Jerry Johns Outstanding Teacher Educator in Reading Award and the Arbuthnot Award guidelines and make recommendations for changes, if necessary, to Headquarters.
