Issues in Literacy Assessment Committee

 

Charges:

  1. Monitor current issues and research related to assessment, especially as mandated under federal law including NCLB (No Child Left Behind) and IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act), working closely with the Government Relations and Title I committees.

  2. Determine a means for communicating this information to IRA members (e.g., through Reading Today, other publications, conferences, etc.).

  3. Review IRA position statements to determine currency and relevance. Make recommendations for revisions, replacements, or new position statements.
