The authors, both elementary level teachers, share ideas and strategies to use in literature circles with English learners. They begin by defining literature circles and discussing the importance of scaffolding English learners. Then, they present several strategies, along with ideas for monitoring and encouraging discussion. The chapter includes many examples of student talk.
