Literacy and Learning Lessons From a Longtime Teacher
Abstract of
Chapter 48
Embrace public writing conferences
Regie Routman
Effectively conferring with students is one of the most important and challenging aspects of teaching writing well. Holding an in-depth public conference with one student—with the rest of the class looking on, listening in, and then applying what they learn to their own writing—is a productive and efficient way to reach and teach all students. In this lesson, you will learn teaching actions that propel students forward as writers.
