For Authors

Whether you have a classroom teaching tip to share or the results of a research study to present, IRA has a publication venue to meet your needs. No matter what your professional context, IRA has a professional publication to match your needs and interests as an author. For more information, please read the instructions provided for each publication, linked at right, or contact us by e-mail. We look forward to receiving your manuscript.

Do you have cutting-edge, research-based literacy teaching ideas to share? IRA is seeking book proposals from new and previously published authors. We are especially interested in titles written for K-12 classroom teachers that focus on formative assessment strategies, writing instruction, teaching literacy across content areas, and motivating readers at all grade levels.

IRA’s professional development books support the growth and advancement of classroom teachers, reading specialists, and other literacy professionals throughout their careers. Our priority is for projects that successfully translate literacy research into practice through concrete strategies and techniques relevant to literacy professionals.
