Elementary teachers: We want to hear from you!

Inspire and motivate yourself and your colleagues by writing for “View From the Chalkboard,” personal essays written by elementary classroom teachers for elementary classroom teachers. We’re looking for profiles of exemplary teachers and classrooms, reflections on your own teaching experiences, advice for new teachers, perspectives on current issues in literacy and education, and more.

Submissions should be 400–500 words and include photographs if possible. E-mail Shannon Fortner at sfortner@reading.org for more information or to submit an essay.

If your essay is selected for publication, you will receive a one-year, online-only subscription to any IRA journal for yourself or a colleague.
