Instant Messaging, Literacies, and Social Identities Online-Only Supplementary Material Cynthia Lewis, University of Minnesota Bettina Fabos, Miami University The study described in this article drew on extensive videotaped sessions with study participants. Here, as an online-only supplement, the authors make available (with participants permission) several sample clips from the video data. These samples serve to illustrate explicitly both one participants use of online communication tools, and the rapport between the participant and researcher during data collection. Each link below leads to a video clip with accompanying transcript.
