Billed Purchase Order Policy
This purchase order policy does not apply to registrants who will be sending payment (by cash, check or credit card) with their meeting registration. This policy only applies to registrants whose employers require the International Reading Association to send them an invoice before they will pay for the meeting registration. All registrants using a Billed Purchase Order must choose the Billed Purchase Order option on the prepaid registration form.
Please adhere to advance or reduced-rate registration deadlines noted on the registration form. The rates that you are billed will be based on the date that IRA receives your request for registration, and on the date that your final payment is received. If you elect to use this method of payment, be sure that each individual who registers will attend this event, as a $75 cancellation fee will be charged for individuals who register but do not attend the meeting. IRA reserves the right not to accept purchase orders in lieu of payment at the meeting site.
Please note: In order to obtain the advance rates, your employer’s purchase order must be received by IRA’s registration partner on or before 4/9/2012, close of business, 9 p.m. EST for discounted rates to apply. IRA reserves the right to re-bill for the higher on-site registration rate if deadline has passed.
Cancellation Policy Should you find it necessary to change your Convention plans, be sure to notify IRA in writing by April 9, 2012, close of business 9 p.m.EST. A processing fee of $75 for each cancellation will be withheld from all refunds. If a purchase order was used for payment, an invoice will be sent to the billing information given during the registration process. Cancellation of registration for any reason or no-shows will not be refunded after the April 9 deadline.
Written notification must be emailed to IRAReg@cmrus.com or mailed by the deadline to:
IRA Registration Refund c/o Convention Management Resources 33 New Montgomery, Suite 1100 San Francisco, CA 94105
Name badges are nontransferable. Changes or replacements must be submitted on or before April 9, 2012, close of business, 9 p.m. EST. Requests for changes or replacements cannot be handled onsite.
Clock Hours If you participate in any IRA-sponsored professional development activity, such as Literacy Study Groups, Conferences, Institutes or the Annual Convention, IRA will award you a transcript of completion that includes clock hours. This transcript may be used as part of a professional development sequence approved by local school districts. Your district can provide information about the specific clock-hour requirements in your state.
A record of clock hours earned at the end of an IRA meeting or event will be available for one year starting with the 2012 Chicago Convention. IRA will no longer host past meeting records as of September 1, 2011. If you need access to the 2011 Clock Hours for the 56th IRA Annual Convention, please contact Customer Service at Customerservice@reading.org for assistance.

How to Save on Registration - IRA Members - Registration opens December 14, 2011. IRA members can save up to $110 on registration. During the convention registration process, add a $39 regular membership to your registration order to receive discounted rates immediately! Register now! Please note, you must be an individual member of the International Reading Association. Membership through an institution or state or local council does not meet the criterion for the reduced member rate.

Payment Information
Full payment must be submitted in US dollars with each registration. IRA accepts American Express, MasterCard, Purchasing Cards, Visa, checks and purchase orders. Purchase orders must be pre-approved, signed by issuer, submitted with a completed registration form, and postmarked by Monday, April 9, 2012, close of business, 9 pm. EST to qualify for pre-registration rates. IRA will re-bill for the higher, on-site registration fee if payment is not postmarked by the deadline.
Registration Fees
Convention registration fees include all regular Convention program activities from April 29–May 2. Registration fees are based on IRA member status at the time of registration as well as the date registration is received, regardless of what is entered on the form. IRA reserves the right to charge the corresponding rates at the time the registration form is received. This covers both member and nonmember rates as well as early and on-site fees. IRA will not reimburse the difference between the member and nonmember registration rates to any participant whose completed membership application was processed after they registered for the Annual Convention. Institutes and meal functions purchased do not include any part of the Convention.
If more than one person is registering from your institution, be sure to register them individually. A separate registration form or online record is required for each registrant. Badge sharing is strictly prohibited and clock hours will only be awarded to the person who is officially registered.
